Taking out the garbage...

Johann helped Mummy take out the garbage today (",)
Not the first time... but the first time Mummy remembered to grab the camera...

Out of the house... off to the bin...
Johann did a little detour and headed for the lift instead! haha
Contemplating which direction to go after Mummy stopped him from going to the lift...
Finally... wobbling in the right direction...
He has seen Mummy do this countless times...
Decided to use his hands to open up the chute instead! YuckS!
Mummy took over and whisked him to the wash basin immediately! hehe

Daddy's little helper

Daddy went cycling early this morning... When Daddy came home, Johann was ready to serve Daddy his can of isotonic drink... With the cue from Mummy, Johann went straight to the refrigerator... Waiting for Mummy to open the refrigerator door so that he could get his hands on the can drink... The moment he got hold of the can drink, he held it carefully with both hands and walked purposefully towards the door where Daddy was taking off his shoes and catching his breath... Needless to say... Daddy was so grateful for the drink... haha

"For you, Daddy..."

A little thank you kiss for Johann...
After that Johann helped Daddy to put away his cycling gear...
Only the stuff he can manage, of course...

Thank you so much, Johann!

Emre Kor Kor came to play!

Back from East Coast, we waited for Emre Kor Kor and family to come over...
The last time we met was when Daddy went for his half ironman...
It was so funny. The two young ones pretended to be shy...
Yes, pretended.
We know the real them... haha
Before Emre Kor Kor left, we went to the playground downstairs...
First time Mummy let Johann play at the playground...
He sure enjoyed himself...
Emre Kor Kor too, of course!

Happy little Johann...

Off to East Coast Park...

We went to East Coast Park's Big Splash at noon...
Stopped over at Carl's Junior...
Mummy just discovered something else that would occupy Johann in a fast food restaurant other than a packet of chilli sauce... Straws that come with the paper covering thingy...

Johann had other plans on his mind though...
Guess what he was doing with the straw...

Having observed us do this countless times in front of him, he decided to give it a try...

Here's Johann in the car... On the way home...
Seventeen (the magazine) was having some carnival at the Big Splash...
Johann got a balloon from Yami Yogurtz...
He's so into balloons now...
Sees one, he'd love to have one...
See how carefully he holds on to his balloon...
As if it'd fly away in the car! haha
Even when I called him...
Pose maintained...
Only head moved...
See the irritated look?
I teased him by trying to take his balloon...
He sure was not letting go... hehe

Proud member of the NLB...

We were off to Toa Payoh Library with a mission this afternoon...
Mummy thought it was time that Johann became a member of the NLB...
Reasons:
(1) Borrowing quota of 4 not enough for Mummy and Johann to share.
(2) He needs to read new books. Stingy Mummy has not bought many new books for him recently.
At the library, Mummy went to the counter to check how to register Johann. The kind lady directed us to the E-Kiosk.
Mummy was so amazed when Johann's card was ready in the slot. It was so simple. Key in Johann's birth cert, scan Mummy's IC and the card was ready within seconds! Impressed!
Johann was so happy when he held his card for the first time. He did not want to let go even when Mummy needed to scan the card to borrow the books. haha

Finally, a card he can call his own...

Johann's first loot from the library using his own card...
As he borrowed his first 4 books, he got a free bag... haha

Reaching out to open the door

This little fella of mine is up to something new every day...
Today, he decides that he shall try to open the door himself...
He's indeed a curious little fella...
Growing up...
So very quickly...

Aiming for the handle...

And he got it!

Luckily, the door is still too heavy for him.
Though he managed to pull the handle, he was unable to pull open the door...
Not yet... for now...

Helping out with the chores

We spent the day at home today...
Mummy thought it a great idea to get little Johann started with helping out with the chores...
Mummy captured these precious photos of the little one hard at work... hehe

Hungry Johann... Angry Johann...

Johann starting screaming angrily after his dinner...
Mummy asked him so many questions...
Whether he wanted this or that... whether he was in pain...
Whether he wanted to get out of his highchair...
All he answered was "Neh"... which in Johann language means "No".
Mummy didn't know what to ask...
So Mummy asked him...
Johann want to eat? Johann hungry?
Straightaway, he was quiet and Mummy knew she hit the jackpot...
Little fella is growing...
His dinner was not sufficient... haha...
Gave him a moon biscuit...
He was...
Over the moon!

Here's Johann enjoying his moon biscuit...

THREE jabs.. all in a day!

Johann was scheduled to go for his pneumococcal jab (1st dose) at the Private Children's Clinic today...

Been a while since we last saw Dr Tan...

Throughout the general examination by Dr Tan, Johann was really cooperative. The nurse attempted to give Johann a ball to play with during the examination. Johann rejected it and chose to give Dr Tan his full attention instead. haha. He really impressed Dr Tan... Mummy and Daddy were impressed too...

Johann is growing well... Weighing 11.8 kg and standing at 76 cm...

The story behind the three jabs...

Johann is due for his MMR and chicken pox jabs next month. Dr Tan suggested that Johanm go for his MMR and chicken pox jabs too. This is to save Johann the agony of going through the traumatic experience again next month... After considering, Mummy and Daddy decided to take on Dr Tan's advice.

It was definitely a painful experience for Johann... Poor fella...
Daddy was holding on to him... Mummy was holding onto his hands... One nurse was holding onto his legs and the other two nurses did the jabs...

Without a doubt, Johann screamed his heart out...

He recovered quite quickly from the shock. Munching happily on his sweetcorn crunchy rings while Mummy waited to make the next appointment for him. Next one in October. 2 more jabs and final developmental checkup. Last one, finally. Phew!

Mummy's definitely not looking forward to his screaming then... at 18 months old... bigger Johann, bigger scream??? hehe

But for the moment... Mummy's more worried about the fever and rashes that might come on within the week due to the jabs... Hopefully he'll be strong and there won't be any fever at all (",)
