Daddy's Biggest Supporter

Daddy is a participant at this year's Aviva Ironman.
So... naturally, his BIGGEST supporter was a part of it all...

Day 1 - Saturday, 20 March

Daddy had to check in his bike at East Coast...
Off we went in the afternoon in Uncle Badrul's car...
We had planned to set off earlier but were delayed because of the rain.

Here's the little fella, all geared up to go!

The BIG supporter and the SMALL supporter...

Look at his grumpy face... haha

Here's the men loading up the bicycle...

Mummy and Johann were already seated in the car... Johann requested Mummy take a photograph of his feet... Happy feet (",)

After that, he took over the camera... Check out his shots...

As we were driving along the KPE, the little fella went all quiet... that was when Mummy realised he had fallen asleep...

When we reached the bike check-in area, we were greeted by this...
super long queue of participants wanting to do the same thing...

Look at how bored Uncle Badrul got whoile waiting for Daddy to have his bicycle checked in...

Finally...

We smuggled Johann into the transition area (participants only)... haha
To take photographs! What else...

After that we went to Parkway Parade for lunch and some shopping...
We headed back home early so that Daddy could get his much needed rest for race day!

Day 2 - Sunday, 22 March

It was RACE DAY!
Uncle Badrul and Nenek came over bright and early at 4.30 a.m.
Here we are in the car again, ready to head to East Coast for the race!

We reached East Coast at about 5.15 a.m.
After Daddy had his body marking done, it was time for photographs!

Sleepy with Daddy, Grumpy with Mummy...

Distracted with Daddy and Mummy...

While Daddy went to get his gear ready, we waited outside the transition area...
Johann saw many of the participants eating his favourite fruit, banana for their energy boost...
He could not resist and asked Mummy for one... Luckily Mummy was prepared...

Here's Uncle Paul and Daddy, relaxing before it all begins...
The disruption to his sleep made Johann very tired... he fell asleep while we made our way to the beach... The race was about to begin!
This beautiful sight greeted us as we reached the beach...

Here's the two eager participants checking out the swim route...

Johann was woken up... He must have felt the nerves and excitement around him...

Here's Johann striking his favourite pose at the moment...
"Pain..."

Here we are on the beach, waiting for Daddy to emerge from the waters after his first lap of the swim...

One more lap to go!

Johann waiting anxiously for Daddy to finish the swim leg of the race...

Here's Daddy... Looking so happy... Moving on to the cycling leg...

During transition, Daddy geared up to cycle 90 km...

While Daddy headed for his first lap of the cycling leg, we headed for breakfast at KFC...
Here's Mummy's and Johann's breakfast for the day...

Johann truly enjoyed the crispy waffle...

Johann practicing his cheer for Daddy...

While waiting for Daddy to reach the u-turn point, Johann entertained himself with going up and down the platform... and eating strawberries in between...
Here's Daddy going for his final lap of the cycling leg...

We headed to the transition area again to wait for Daddy...
This time, Uncle Badrul entertained Johann with photography...

Mummy's favourite shot of the day...

He got so carried away, he tripped and fell...
Grazing his knee...

Swim - checked, Cycling - checked, Running next...

It was almost noon while Daddy was running his 21km...
Johann took the opportunity to nap again...

Daddy doing the last leg of the race...

Johann woke up just in time for Daddy to pass us on his final lap of the run...
He was excited when Mummy took out the poster he made for Daddy...

We waited some more for Daddy...
It was indeed a hot afternoon...
We were lucky to have found a shady place to rest...

Daddy finally ran to the finishing line carrying Johann with him...
No photographs were taken as Uncle Badrul captured the moment on the video camera (",)
Needless to say, we all headed home for a well deserved rest after that...
